LAke Goerge

Only a very short section off the lake was working today but it was very nice and the wind was very solid, Port tack today..... not my favourite side, but by the end i was very comfortable and happy to push hard. The wind was as strong as i have seen it at LG and would have loved to sail the usual speed run but the water level over there is still WAY to high, it will be a while untill you can sail that area.

Good to meet a few new crew and see PB's from them all.

Love this combo, and the mXr Weed Speed are acceptional fins, I believe there is plenty more in this fin aswell. Happy days

Lake George Day 2

A few beers last night at the pub and having to use earplugs to try to sleep in the same caravan as a few knuckleheads had us launching off 5  mile drift side of the lake. Normally lake George has that beautiful smooth consistent wind but up top its was gusty and squally. You know its going to be a hell day when Jimbob comes in and states its a bit hairy out there. Headed out on the speed gear and explored the area and started to slowly get some good numbers. As the day progressed the water level dropped slightly and the weed beds really flattened the water out. Couple of runs later scored a few good gusts and came out with my peak PB and a solid 10 sec. Things were looking good and started to line up another run when got hit by a mega gust and swatted.. Torn my spreader bar off my harness and lost my prescription sunglasses.. Sailed back in unhooked and blind.. my plan was to just sail and the light coloured blobs in the distance and luckily got back to cars! Pi%%$d off as the water was getting flatter and more PB's were calling..Cry

Fun didnt stop there. JAcques and I loaded up the van for the 5 hr trip home and 1.5 hours from home a truck passed us and the bonnet of the car flew up smashing the windscreen.. A few scary moments of driving blind at 100kmh until i managed to stick my head out window and guide Jacques to side of road. We were both covered in shards of glass and wearing our brown undies! We limped home at a snails pace and got in at 1AM..

Well done to all the lads today smashing out PB's. Great to catch up with all my old mates as well as meeting some new faces. Jimbob, once again thanks for the use of the van and your local knowledge. Sam & Carl - you two are pissers. Awesome effort by the NSW boys especially powersloshin (George) smoking down the run on his 100+ board in 30+ knots. Nice work by the queenslanders as well. Also Sensational effort by my sailing buddy Jacques for smashing everyone today!

Hey Dan... would have liked to keep going but my guide dog was struggling in the water and having no harness made it a tad tiring..

well done boys good to know Geelong is producing some of the best sailers in the country, and certainly sets a bench mark for other team members.

sorry to hear of the misfortune but the speeds would have certainly lifted the spirit.

We took a fair few photos of the windsurfing at Lake George on this epic day. They have been uploaded to a Facebook photo roll.
