Fun day on the sound... Pamlico Sound, NC. Spent the middle of the day on the RRD X-Fire with the TR-4 7.6 then switched to the Fanatic 111 for the afternoon session. WAY too rough for any serious GPS runs, but a great vacation workout. Shifty winds that stayed around 17 to 20 mph most of the day. Big wind tomorrow. Yummmm!

Unexpected session at the Kennedy Slicks. Forecast called for 10 mph, we got low 20s WSW - yeah! Sunny, warm, wonderful. Not a single other windsurfer on the water in Kalmus, Sea Street, or the Slicks!

Started out at Sea Street with Warp 71 + Matrix 7.5 to get some race practice. Too choopy for my taste, so sailed up to the Slicks. Tide was pretty low (1-2 ft), wall looked high, but the wind was not bad 50 m away from it. Got tired of the big board after an hour. Packed the van and drove to the harbor. Did not look windy at all there, so I picked the Matrix 7.0 instead of the TR7 7.0. Should have known better, the wind was great, but I love my old Matrix, anyway. Might have gotten a couple more knots top speed out of the TR7, but would probably have lost as much in the alpha and the mile (which includes 2 jibes).

Finally making some progress on the jibes again. Min. speed for the best 10 jibes was 9.1, which may be my best ever. Fun!
