Lake Illawarra, about 20 knots

iSonic 90, Loft Switchblade 6.3, 25cm FO weed

The lake was up a bit today, so I could use the 25cm weedy. The wind was very up and down - very tiring. I managed to find Garry's rock - about 30 metres east of the little white buoy out from the caravan park. I hit it at about 25 knots and it stopped me dead.

Struggling to decide whether that was fun or stupid. Got to Peely with the ribs feeling Ok but after taking 20 minutes to rig & 10 minutes to get winter wettie on I was struggling. After the effort I had to try. Hmm, wasnt too bad on the port run out to the run. Then turning around & getting going on the sore side was the problem. Once going I was OK but first gybe went nup!! Had a few good runs but just too much.

Couldnt do much except go up & down the run. Mick said go in before I do anymore damage so off I toddled.

Glad I went out and made the effort but couldve been so much more enjoyable.

Really great to catch up with Greg, Mark j and AJ and the usual suspects.

Falcon 79, Evo V 5.8, custom weedy 19.

Seems like the only time there wasn't decent wind on the lake all day was when we were there......

And I got spanked the previous evening at Palm Beach when it went from 20 knots to 35 + and just honked.....

Hi Garry - it was pretty solid. I reckon it could be a concrete block from a boat mooring. Dunno, but it sent me over the front!

Larko, big speed on mashed ribs buddy well done. Good to see you again. You and Sam should go in to production and make some more of those fins of yours and sell them, they look great and the 19 was obviously stiff enough to lug you round at great speed.
