Finally got out to the wind and it died. Shocker.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Finally got out, had 2 or 3 powered runs then all over. Lake is low so super flat. Few boys out including Paul Davies who had just had 12 weeks out with a broken ankle, good to see ya back Paul. Tried 7.1 Ka Race today and felt as grunty as my old 7.5 Koncept. 115 Patarik slalom 22 Delta. Go Marauders!! Bruce, Greg K, Old Pete and I are coming to Queens on Saturday if forecast hold and if any other southerners are keen.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU - NNW 20-25 knots when I got there at 12.30pm. Sue, Greg K and Pete were already out and it was pretty windy. They were honking.

Rigged the GPS 6.0 (2nd time used) with the CA SL55 and 19cm MUF. A sweet combo for the conditions today. A bit shallow in close due to water level going down gradually. Hitting bottom on some gybes, sheesh!!

Nice to sail with Paul Davies again after 12 weeks out with a broken leg from SUP surfing, good work buddy getting out there...Magic Mick turned up later with Pugs but the best of it had gone by then.

Cheers all.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. Back on a board following 13 weeks of recuperation after breaking my ankle SUPing. Felt so good to be windsurfing again. What a fantastic sport, and only known to a few. My ankle is still weak so happy with my speed (31knts) first day back. Good company at Peel Street.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts etc. from all.

That CA SL55 is just about the sweetest gybing board I have ever riden plus the flat water really helps. But it is getting shallower there.

Thanks for the pics Sue, always good to see where ohers sail. Water is flat but does the wind swirl around with the high ground and trees so close?

congrats on the Alpha Wayne, gotta love planing gybes.

That's just the zoom lens making them look so close. The wind is clear although all stuff from W area is  gusty Undecided .

Actually anything NNW tends to be gustier - bigger lulls than saya W - SW..The only problem with the area is that it doesn't get the wind that Lake Macquarie or Sydney gets..It can be blowing 25-30kts both sides and 15-20kt or less here. But when the planets line up!!Tongue out

Cheers for the pics Sue. Nice ones, even though I was a fair way away from you. Smile Nice lens. Got a few nice gybes that day.....

Yeah Evets it is flat and shallow but usually OK with a Delta fin. The NNW or NW winds blow you into the shallows, which is not always a nice feeling going fast into shin/ankle deep water and gybing. Try not to think about that aspect. It can also be pretty gusty as Sue said.

We have never had any serious accidents there but Pete did hit a submerged wooden sleeper the day after this and was catapulted over the front breaking a harness line. He marked the sleeper and later towed it into shore using his kayak/canoe. Onya Pete.

The NE winds in Summer tend to blow you slightly away and more almost parallel to the shallows. This is usually our best wind direction.
