Will Trossell (2021km): Well....with a forecast like that it seemed like there was no choice but to go. IF the wind had been 10 degrees tighter then it it would have been a PB day no question. The wind was perfect for a 5m, fully maxed and the slingshot/accleration out of the corner gave a taste of what might have been but at 100m the chop was 15cm high and 250m was 30cm. Congrats to Mike on your PB peak speed and thanks to Darren for taking the pictures - it wasn't pleasant on the wall today! Patrik 39 speed, 5.0 Evo 6, MXR UFO 18 | ||||||||||||||||||
Mike G (11070km): The wind strength was absolutely perfect for high speeds but it was just too broad today, even for 250m runs.
Trying to sail at full tilt for more than 100m down the wall seemed suicidal so the focus was on enjoying the smooth run up and 100m of
acceleration down the course.
Will started his day with a crash whilst slowing down in the chop and that wasn't the last of his crashes during the day! I also had a couple of
crashes later in the morning when the wind was getting even broader so it was at that point we decided to call it a day.
It was great to be out on speed kit again and a huge bonus to see 46 knots on the screen of both my GT-31's. 46 knots was only for a second so it
comes out at 45.45 knots over 2 seconds.
If the angle had been 10 degrees different, I have no doubt it would have been a PB day for everything from 10s and 5x10s to 500m.
Loving the new board!
