A play at Invy. Knocked off work at little early to avoid the crazy chop from yesterday and get some flat water. Water was a bit too low for a 30 fin so played on the entrance until the tide changed. Had some crazy runs in the chop and squalls but no crowds unlike the crew in the pond Laughing

Run the 5.8 today as the wind had a few less holes than yesterday, still loving the 2015 sails just so quick and stable. Came back in and played for another few hrs till the last snag went under.

Great session on the new equipment at Sandy Point. Sunny and smiling faces!

The wind didn't really put it on, but there were some idyllic moments and I seemed to find myself in the right place at the right time! Cool

Great to meet Matt from Albury, who bought my 6.6 Koncept 2013 and Brad who I haven't seen at the Pit for some years.

Can't wait to push this gear in ideal conditions! The KA 2015 is just so incredibly stable and the Mistral is a stunning piece of hydrodynamic design. Nice one Chris!

Mistral Speed 41, Tribal 18 Assy, Mistral Speed 47, Tribal 21 Symmy, KA Koncept 2015 5.0. 5kg lead.

Great to finally get some runs but a very strange day! I got there a bit late and missed the initial change where Ado and Mat got their 40+ speeds. I saw Mat and Peter on 4m Koncepts and sand blowing in cloads off the dues so I rigged my 4.6m as well as my 5.4m. But the time I had the wind seemed to have eased a bit so I went on the 5.4m with lots of weight. No good! Too hard to handle on the run in in the extreme gusty conditions and the course was too broad after a wind shift. After a few tries I got the 4.6m and shed the weight. This felt really nice but I was struggling to get 40 knot peaks and 39k 10 secs. Felt a little underpowered on the run. After a while I swithed back to the 5.4m with no weight and it felt good. There seemed like there was plenty of wind and good angle but the speeds were not coming. Still 40 peaks and 39 10secs. Finally the wind swung just a tad more south and I got a nice run. It felt like a mid 40 run but was only just over a 42 Peak. Afrer than I did two more runs in squalls and back to 40 peaks. Very strange! I think Mal Wright would call it 'slow water'. wink

I need to do a bit of tuning up.... on my body!! I am feeling it today. blush

Great to sail and have fun with Ado, Mat, Brad, Pete and Matt.

Fantastic session for Ado. He was really dialed in and early enough to get the good water! Cool

The little stuff although I got the 47 up to 40knots without the lead on one run - but the wind was lighter by then. Cool

Interesting tid-bit... from about 2pm to about 3pm that afternoon, we had only 5 satellites visible as the remainder were on the edge of the horizon. If/when we ever get new GPS's, this "problem" (it isn't really) may be alleviated just a little bit due to the increased sensitivity of the new receivers.

satellite-plot of only 5 locked satellites
