The 3rd day at LG! Feeling a bit weary. Embarassed

The forecast was for only 15-20 knots today so I decided to test Jamies slalom board a bit more. Wink

John reported he was using the same sail as the day before so I went with the 5.4m Koncept rigged with a little less outhaul. It was spot on, although I am sure I would have done just as well on the 5.8m.

I had a couple of runs and decided to go downwind to the spit to have a chat with Norman and Geoff, the LG legends! They were happily cruising back and forth just upwind of the spit. We had a bit of a natter went back to sailing. I tried a few Alphas below the island where the water was pretty flat and then set off upwind again. When I got back to 5mile, Ian looked like he was going for a one hour. I followed him accros for a couple of runs and started thinking I should go for an hr as well. While I was thinking about it I realised I had already been going 10 minutes so it was not a hard decision to continue! The JP 54 70L slalom felt very smooth over the slightly bumpy water at 28-30 knots but ever now and then on an akward wave the shoulder would plow a bit and put the brake on for a moment. It was pretty nice in the gybes once I adjusted to it as long as had good speed and dint get my weight too far forward. In that case it tended to push water and slow quickly, but in these conditions it was not hard to adjust my weight back a biy to prevent that.

Pretty happy with the 1hr, Alpha and distance so it's time to head home for a few days.

But as 'The Terminator' said: "I'll be back!" Laughing

A big thanks to Jamie for looking after me for a few days and inspiring me to go harder!
