Short session to test settings/masts on the custom Firewing, used it for the first time in real (hard core)speed conditions. Could not wait untill the conditions would become more smooth later in the afternoon like most others were doing(less shop behind the dam when tide will get lower) and I had to look for the lulls to have a fast run because I was pretty overpowered. Only took 4 kilo of lead and that was way to little, but I could'n take any risk because tomorrow I'll have my Tomorrowland session, so after a sudden wipe out with minor saildamage, I quit. Nevertheless very happy with the potential of the sail! A +44kts  peak on the first time with a sail, in far from perfect conditions is simply great!

I was really hungry for a good day of speed. It felt like a day in hell. First run started not to good when I was planing along the dam and felt no wind... untill a really big gust threw me over the board when I was still hooked in. A hard catapult and broken harness-lines so back to shore for a new one. I was 5 min on the water.
After a fixed the lines back on the water and in my second run I felt a the end when I finished the run but I had still some good speed (over 70 km/h) when I hit the water for the second time!!

Woooow! Wat een dag! Op de middag een bak wind, eigenlijk teveel voor mij om gecontroleerd te varen. Na enkele runs kreeg ik de moed erin en ging het beter.

 

De MXR lovemachine voor het eerst gevaren, wat een superboard! Mega veel controle, het vaart bijna vanzelf, je moet enkel je zeil controleren.

 

Heel weinig km's maar wel dikke PR's op verschillende disciplines!
