Steve Carter (8460km): Dropped in at Fludyers and steady 4.2m weather. Sea looked bit choppy and OK. Went to Dip and people well powered on 5m so rigged 76/4.7m to sail with others. Wind climbed so flattened sail then eventually 4.2m and that was overpowered much of the times. Sea bit choppy with some nice faces to ride down and got better after high. Would have been a great session if not so overpowered much of the time. About 10 people out in December, good to see and all enjoyed themselves. Got tired and falling in more so packed up. Got a hole in board I guess from concrete blocks uncovered by receding shingle in our groynes, so watch out.3*
Ian Richards (18353km): Fun sesh on the Ray, needed a bit more wind but pleased with a pb session for this spot. got the 5.4 feeling nice and got the weight jacket a bit more sorted....great day.
Ant (5703km): Nice session today tuning the 5.4's, PB for Southend..
Mike G (11070km): Stuck in third gear today... never got into the groove and wasted a lot of energy trying to figure out how to speed sail in a SW... port tack. I think I was sailing too close to the bank, trying to set myself up for the magic gust and ending up with nothing! Big up to Scotty for killing it in the gusty conditions. Like Pete says it is time to try the faster venues. :) Notes to self: Ditch the weight jacket, get a bigger fin, sail further away from the bank, bear off in the gusts. Portland Harbour, Weymouth |
