HulkSmash (1909km):
3210 days ago Wharewaka Point, Lake Taupo.
WiInd so variable, with a massive peak just as I arrived. 15 knots gusting 25 ish, then blew to a constant 25 knots gusting more like 30. THen after getting out it eased a lot, and ended back down around 12 knots gusting 15...
Sailed the Starboard Isonic 121 with 42cm fin. Started on Naish Redline 6.4m and was owned, then added more outhaul to flatten it off a bunch, which worked well, then the wind started to ease so let it back out. Had to then quickly rig the 7.8m Naish Redline to keep going which with only half hour before sunset was a quick set up.
Plenty of Kiters getting out at the point, with them having the reserve altered for their foiling event a couple weeks ago. Much safer for all having them in their own area.
Good session, sailing until almost dark... Where were you Curtis?!
I need to get a smaller slalom board. I am looking for about a 105 litre Starboard Isonic or something similar. Can you let me know if anyone sees one for sail at all.
Thanks
