Coal Point, NSW, AU - waited at Marmong for too long so went out to Coal Point just for you SUE Tongue out Exocet RS4, 7.7 Mauisails, 40 cm C3 Sting. Was a bit overpowered but was out for a cruise on behalf of Sue to see whether or not Coal Point was worth the drive - Sue it was very windy and bumpy you would have hated it hahahahahaha...

Coal Point, NSW, AU

Exocet RS6, TR8 8.4/7.6, Vmax 51 - Wind NE 12-18 knots

Great afternoon at Coal Point.  My formula gear needs some repairs so no racing - went to Coal Point instead.  Looked pretty light initially but 8.4 was spot on.   After reading about Remi getting 34 knots on his RS6/8.4 last week I was feeling inspired.  But after getting a 27 flat out overpowered down the sand islands run, I realised I'm not Remi and went back to change down sails.   Much better on the 7.6, and really enjoyed the rest of the afternoon.   Had some sweet speed runs (almost cracked 30 on the big board) then some long cruisy runs across the bay.   Great to stand on the sand bank and have a chat with Greg, Walshy, Steve L and even young Zac came over.    Top day, especially for the middle of March!

Should have gone 11 but not a bad afternoons racing. 7 racers in up and down conditions.

All in by 5 then the breeze came in. Typical.

Burrum Heads, QLD, AU maui tr11 7.7, exocet RS2, v max 35 and 33

over powered at some stages and could feel the drag it would have been unreal to be on the 6.6.

unreal place and a great comp.

met some unreal people and drag racing down the strip was realy cool.

To win a comp like Burrum overall with so many talented sailors is just a privilage.

by the way 7 days straight sailing amd over 650 km yep pretty sore and stuffed.

Burrum Heads, QLD, AU

Last day in paradise Burrum Heads. Lovely present to us from the wind God! Around the 20 knots but we could sail at the southern strip so that was something new for us. New because we had some smooth water at the edges of the sandbank. l used the 7m with the 58wide cutdown and 35cm fin. Was good even if my results dont show it.

We will be back next year God willing.

5-8kts few puffs to 15kts ENE Marmong Point, NSW, AU- should have gone to Coal but had been working on the boat on the slip at Marmong all day + Theo coming to use his new board. Rigged 7.8m + 115 xcross + 38cms pointer. There was  no weed at Marmong so at least I could use a decent fin- pity I wasn't planing much.

Wind dies as soon as I rigged and then Theo realised he'd forgotten his boom..Yell Oh well practised getting upwind- great angle once your out there . Pity the place rarely gets any decent wind in a NE. Few good patches of 15kts that gave me a few 300m planes which were fun although they seemed to coincide with every man and his dog coming home in their boats and leaving massive wakes..Undecided. Wind came in for a while after I came in.

Need a decent lake board for Coal 12-18kts . I don't like the falcon. I could probably stuff around buying new fins and setting it up but I think I'd like a patrick, excocet or something more chop friendly. Frown

grr blew well Friday but no board..crap Sat then blowing again today ( Sunday) when no board..Yell. Looks the end of our wind for a while..Cry
