Great fun, powered up, still choppy but with a developed swell you could run along.😀

Another cracking day on the Island. Blooded a newbie today - Well done on your efforts Ben. Really good to see you out and getting some time on the water and you fitted in like and old pair of jocks. Unlike your jocks, we need to get you some decent equipment.
Sailed with Kel, Ed and Andy - very light for the first couple of hours but gradually built into something worthwhile later in the arvo. Under powered for most of the day - left the big guns in the car. Oh dear....
Andy had a cracking day. Reckon he has come home with at least one PB. Couldnt think of a better place to get it. Ed just blasted alll day. Throughly deserved snooze on the way back to the marina.
Used 90 iS90, 6.5 T4, 36 Mk1 Tribal.

2966 days ago 2 categories Green Island, QLD, AU Big day at the island with the boys..Wind wasn't cranking enough to hit top gear, But still had a good blast all the same with 97lt Isonic and burnt out 6.6m North rig did a few fin changes 38 to 36 than back to38 venoms...Drag strip was good fun but spent a lot of time playing out wide in the chop just for a bit of practice..Didn't spend much time in the drink which i guess is a good thing.Started to get a bit of arm pump just before 3 o'clock so it was game over for me...Think everyone went home shagged but happy..Cheers Ed..

Great to be back at Green Island with my mate Ed, Kel, Billy and new mate, Ben. Had a lot to do today. Could not get comfortable with my gear. Rigged 6m Gator on Atomic 120 litre - went out and didn't have enough power to plane. Came in and rigged Fusion 7.2 - went out and felt overpowered. Came in and changed up the fin to 41cm Select Slalom - Re rigged the Gator - still not enough to plane consistently. Ed dropped by on his way to 135kms run. "Crank the bastard out of that sail". I have been setting the mast extension to 14cm on the Fusion - I decided to set it to 16cm and crank the sail down to it. A revelation - the sail was now not completely overpowered for the wind conditions - it had plenty of twist off now, when the gusts came, and I could adjust the sail purely on the outhaul. Sail was really light and controllable. Had some wonderful screaming runs down the drag strip - tide was just spot on. Beautiful sunshine - great to be alive. Today I learnt about the importance of properly setting up your gear for the prevailing conditions - even if it takes four goes - and I learnt that my 7.2m has an entirely new dimension - regarding its ability to handle a higher wind range - all by adding another 2cm to the downhaul. A new top speed for me, up at 25 knots from 24.
All in all, a great day.
