Tibor (18082km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Great afternoon..no great result but a lot of fun! 90L isonic+7m.+24cm weedie
Byron Mcilveen (64562km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Maui TR11 7.7, Exocet RS2 , delta 19 Sailing with the delta fin feels like shit compaired to the select V max pointer looking forward to trying the BP kestral should be heaps better So many people out for a Monday it was flat but not windy enough so had to go with 7.7. good for jybing due to flat water but hard to get pressure comming out and alot of concentration on the turn to not spin out so very happy concidering using such a big sail. first time in ages sailing at budgi.
Lyds (10267km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU RS2, OD 7.0 - a great day out with half of Australia, so good to see so many sailors in one place.
Bostonfoil (17127km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU JP 92 KAR 7.1 Delta 20 Happy with the PB's but dissappointed with the speed. Tried everything but just felt under powered for almost all of the day. Terrific days sailing. Heaps out. Apologies to the gentlemen with the Severne sail that I beared away on top of.
Bruce Healey (24403km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Great arvo, seabreeze didn't look so good, we almost didn't bother but it was a top nor easter. shame I forgot the 80 litre board & had to use the 100. Everyone & his dog was there, all wanting to see Frothie's incredible PB. People better learn to look before they gybe & check if anyone downwind before they bear away as it was getting a bit dodgy today with so many out & on different angles..6.6m, RS3
Ian Wright (16360km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Nice fun sail at Budgie. Fanatic Ray 102 P7 ac0 6.6. 18 delta.15-20ish knot N/E.
Andrew Haigh (50494km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU FF79 andf 6.6m, way underdone today.
mick13B (2095km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU isonic 101 6.6 hsm way under powered today probably the most sailors ive seen out there today best fun sailing with ever one
sboardcrazy (25232km): 16-22kts NE Peel st Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 7m OD + 90ltre RS 2 + 19 delta - 2 runs then 6.4m Naish Bullit + 79ltre falcon + 19 delta Arrived after 5 hr drive from Jervis bay.. not very energetic..Someone said there was a lady out there with a 7m sail + 100ltre(?)falcon. I kenw it was Dezza so i thought I'd be ok on the same.. Wrong! Maybe it was just jetlag from the last 5 days at the GPS event but it was too much of an effort! I did 2 runs and got a board PB 30.65kts ( over 18kts I'm usually on the 79ltre). Rerigged and much better. Had a fun day and the gyebs are imrpoving - still not back to the old standard but getting there. Disappointing stats. I felt like I was flying! Funny I had one run at Sanctuary where it didn't feel that fast and I got 33.55kts but here I felt like I was flying and only got over 30 once? Not sure if it's the drag of the weed / angle ( deepr angle at Sanctuary + more wind of course) or just me being tired. I was hoping for some decent alphas but this was the only one in 50m radius. I checked in real speed and at 60m I got a 20.03 + 19+ at 70m I got a 21.4 / 20.18 + 3 x over 19 so I need to tighten and tidy them up. Still fun though! Heaps out and sounded like a few close calls.. Pity I can't go again for a while as it's lining up to be good this week. Milsy - Frothie ( 35kts + PB! ) , Pugs , Ian , Byron, Tibor , Bruce , Paul , Micheal + Micheal,+ Mick later others but my brains too dead to think of them all. Dezza you picked a good time to come up. That was pretty good day for Budgy! One of these days I'll have sails matched to masts. I'd gybe and the sail would rotate and then I'd be sailing along thinking hang on it's windy but I'm not really going ..? Then a gust would hit about 300m along and the cam would click into place and wow! now we're going..grr. When I could I'd give it a bash with my hand but the lines are set up to allow rear had off rather than front hand. |
