Jester (817km): Melville Beach, WA, AU Futura 134 8.6m GT 46 carbon volt Nice quick late arvo sail when the wind came in, was awsomely flat but some muppet on a boat had crab pots close to the bank which made it intresting. Not a single other windsurfer was out from melville... never had this, was also the frist time i used this fin and i love it.
Borgy (16631km): Albany, WA, AU Fairly windy and rigged conservatively on 5.8 Lightning, 98 XF and 22 Maui D. Did the first two NM (the best was the first) and then changed up to 6.2 OD R8. Took a bit of getting used to sailing through weed. Once at speed it was not an issue. NM spot was awesome. Peak and Nm came from the first run. The 5*10 shows how consistent the runs are. Next time I will consider the 7m and the 27VSW. Awesome set up at Lilacs and very nice caretakers. Great few days being embedded with the Belford Family. Thoroughly recommend the trip and accommodation - given the right the sailing conditions (tide and wind direction). Definetely need weed fins.
Windrider (12879km): FW5.2, F2SXXS, MUFDelta19. Lilacs, Albany. Another great session with Borgy and great to meet Morts and get the lay of the land and tips for the nautical mile run. Tide well in, so not "awesomely flat", though flat enough in places. Just windy enough for the little FireWing, though could of done with the 5.7 some of the time. All in all a great day! Edit - added Google Earth image and photos Thanks everyone for all the comments. Well done Borgy on your PB! Me: Borgy: Morts: |
