M137 (!!) KAR 7.1m Tribal SPW33
Yeehar! Confined to Melville today, but it was wicked fun. Had a choice of 137 (Thanks Dad!) or speed95 in the car but it was so gusty I opted for the big board. Worth it I think! So got a 137 PB for 10sec (39.74), 5x10 and peak (41.55) on this beast. Was high tide so really choppy all over the bar- which was good since I could go anywhere with the 33 without risk of hitting anything. But the chop was super draggy. There was plenty of wind in the gusts (easily over 30 at times) so was super wound on the 7.1m off the wind, smashing the board through the lumps. Efficiency? None. It was certainly not a day for efficiency. I could feel the drag but realised the smaller boards would have been way too hard to control in these conditions- bouncing off all the chop. Pretty stoked. Wasnt expecting to sail let alone crack a PB on the 137. yeeeeehar!
