Really fun day with the boys today. Sunny, warmish, windy and choppy!! Started out on Falcon 114 & 7.8 with a 34.48 then changed to Falcon 99. Had some great runs on that then was way overpowered. Changed down to 7.0 and spent a lot of time upwind of Packers Pt doing bearaways into the bay. Mike & Rexy did the Leyland Bros thing somewhere way upwind. Had 37.11 on the GW60 but who cares. Very happy with the Alpha in the chop.
A top ten Breakaway day.
FAlcons TE 114, 99 with 7.8 and 7.0 Evo's and 25 weedy.

20 knots NNW
iSonic 90, Loft Switchblade 7.3 25cm FO weed
This can be a frustrating sport, but days like today make it all worthwhile. It was a sensational day out on the lake, with an ideal launch from Packin Point, the sun was out, the water was clear and we had scoped out all the shallow no-go zones. It was just the four of us out there on a huuuuge lake.
I took a gamble on rigging for the forecast, not the conditions, and within 30 minutes, the 7.3 was working fine as the wind just kept on building. I was half considering retiring the old iSonic 90, but the old girl still has legs, even though she's carrying a little extra weight these days.
Cut sick Breakaways!

a cracking day. Did some massive long runs, explored all the middle lake has to offer.
Totally spent now.
Started out on RRD 114 with a 7.9. That lasted about 15mins cause I was going sideways with the crap fin. Changed down to my RRD 90 and stayed with the 7.9. That was an effort but well worth it. In the end decided to rig my 6.3 and grabbed my unused Exocet RS1. Now THAT was fun! It took me everywhere I wanted to go, pointed like a trooper and handled the chop really nicely. Stayed on the plane amazingly well.
I'm quite disappointed with the GW60. Its battery life is atrocious. I started out fully charged and logged at 1 hz. I only did 105km but I only had one battery bar left at the end so anyone wanting to go much longer will need to recharge through the middle of the session. Not good at all.
Aside from that, what a day. 3 of my best mates and a golden lake with a steady breeze. It doesn't get much better
