Lake George. SA.

Nice wind today, lighter early aoround 20kts and mid 20's later. PJ was doing a distance attempt, so I got sucked in myself. I was a bit slow to get going in the morning and didnt start sailing until midday. Started on 5.8m, but had 5.4m rigged. Came in and changed after about 2 hours after the sky cleared and the wind picked up a bit.

Did a tour up to the top of the middle lake a couple of times. There was some nice, almost flat water up the top and on the sides in some places, but hard to find anywhere flat enough for faster speed runs. My best NM was running acorss the lake in the swell lines. Likewise the 1HR. Tried for some Alphas but missed the circle in all the better ones.

There was a long run from near the 5 mile, past the islands and through into the big lake, right to the NE shore and back. The water was quite flat in the big lake below the shore, but the wind was 5 knots less as well, so I only did that a couple of times.

I tried a couple of speed runs below the spit, but didn't get much wind earlier. My best speed was avtually above the spit on the windward side where the water was surprisingly flat.

I was aiming for 300KM+, but the wind turned off around 6.30 and I was left short by 50kays. Didnt quite get to a PB. Frown

I was felling wery sore and sorry for myself last night with aching muscles everywhere. A lot better today after a good nights sleep. Might have a short sail this arvo.

JP70 54cm Slalom, Tribal 21cm weedspeed, KA koncept 5.8m and 5.4m, GT31 GPS. (the GW60 watch lasted until i was walking in when the wind died, but I had given it a short booster charge during a 10 minute break GW60, so it had almost the whole session)

An outstanding effort all round, Daffy. Sensational hour.

I'm surprised you can even walk today as you don't seem to have been doing a lot of sailing lately.

Super numbers Daffy. I am sure Supernan would cover herself in glory over there, but not sure she would like to cover herself in mud though. 😤

Fantastic Andrew, there's no chance of me catching you this year!

You didn't miss anything at Albany, best conditions were Tuesday night, the guys who got out at dawn Wednesday got the tail end.

Pip, no mud here at all this year. Just clear water, sand and weed! :-)

Actually, there is still some mud just where we launched last season at 5-Mile, but the parking area is cactus there and it's far better launching just upwind at the Gap. Firm bottom and clear water.

Anita, I was shattered last night, but actually feeling alright today so went out and had a great session. Laughing

Decrepit, very sorry to hear that Albany let you down. Frown

Andrew, I got about 7 hours battery life from the GW60, but that included about 15 minutes plugged into my car charger whicle I had a break. I recon your 6 hrs is about it without that.
