Clifton Beach, QLD, AU. Gear 2015 Jp slalom 93 RSR E 6 7m2 Cl Sl2 34.

Made the decision to miss the island session today despite the great tides.(sorry team mates )

Meant  a nice little sleep in & eventuated in a really fun blast off my home Beach .Started at 15-18 SSE ,dropped a bit then picked up nicely after lunch to more of a SE  direction .Again found some flattsih water on double island near the southern margin & spent 3 1/2 hrs blasting around .

Sunny ,breezy, definitely uncrowded & overall a great way to spend a Sunday ...CoolSmile

Green Island, QLD.

Amazing day at the island! On arrival we were greeted by a nice 18 to 20knts, which slowly built through the day.

Strongest winds came in right on high tide which made for some very exiting bare aways in the chop!

Sailed with Ed, Andrew, Benny, Pat, Billy and Kaylee!

Used Isonic 90, Overdrive R8 6.2 and C3 Viper 32Cool( Very favourite combo!!)

Green Island, QLD, AU   A Great Day on GI with my mate, Ed, Captain Morgan and Benny Mc Carthy - and a Special Appearence from my mate, Billy Craig.  Started off a pretty solid 20 knots with a fair bit of South in it.  The GI tides were just perfect for our mission - neap tides and getting higher - this meant that we could play all day on the South Speed Run.  Normally it is hard work to get up to the run and stay up - but today was easy - my first outing in my new rig, courtesy of the Severne Rep, Paul - who gifted it to me after my work on the Australian Championship a few weeks ago = lovely Severne Turbo 6.5 with a single cam was a nice step up from the Gator - another real highlight was a Severne 430 RDM 90% carbon mast - brand new off the shelf as well.  Atomiq 120 board with a new 38cm slalom fin that I got off Freddy Burke - had a good shot tuning the sail for the first time - put the standard setting for the sail and went out for a blast - too much to handle - so I went back in and added another 2cm to the mast extension - Perrrfect!! plenty of twist off the top three panels and we were off - also spent a bit of time setting up the harness lines to go with the new rig - I've been after a 430 mast for a while - to go with my 6m Gator - and now I have it - Had a couple of hours on the Field Of Dreams - cruising along - slightly overpowered hovering only centimetres above chunks of coral - The sun Was Shining and it was our slice of Paradise - everyone went in for a break and then all Hell broke loose as a Squall came through and flogged me out - Arlington Reef was reading gusts of up to 31 knots - and we all wondered where Dr Cam was - Poor Billy was stuck in Melbourne and tried to make himself happy by stirring Ed on his phone.  Kelly was seeing Whales launching out of the water - I wonder what the Poor People Were Doing.Cool

Green Island, QLD, AU Yer nice day at GI today,Sun was out wind was blowing..97lt Isonic trashed 6.6m North Rig.. Did a few tune up laps and Was lit up the whole session  spent some serious time playing on the drag strip..Had a few Drags with the Captian but he kicked my ass on his race gear,  i gave it my best shot and had a heap of fun....Got a little over powered after lunch,  wind was up around  30kts in the gust and i was getting a bit low on fuel..So i knocked of half an hr early ,as i had a good session and i am nursing a rooted shoulder..Andrew and Ben sailed very well and there should be a couple of PBs waiting for them Ben had some good Gopro footage but lost his GoPro..aaaahhh..Andrew road tested his new Severne sail and seems very happy with his new toy.. Met Kay lea today not sure if i have her name right..Our new Scotish friend, she seems to be a very acoplished sailor, will have to get her up to Port Douglas to sail with my good friend Simmi who is also a very good free style sailor, they will get along great...Think everyone had a good day in paradise..Cheers Ed..

Green Island, QLD, AU

Exocet 135 Severne Convert 6.7 Black Project 47.5

Awesome day of sailing filled with Highs & a couple of Lows!  One could have rigged a small bedsheet and had a blast...the wind gods definately turned it up today!

Daringly made my way over to the drag strip for the first time with the 47.5 fin and ended up spending about half the session there.  Some smelly shorts moments for sure but all in good FUN!!!  Went for a short break and decided to then sail out the back where there was a bit more depth in the water.  Thought I would have racked up a few more K's.  Had the Go Pro on the boom for most of today and I am sure there is some terrific footage on it.  The Go Pro is now currently somewhere on the bottom of the reef along with a new pair of Maui Jims due to a sudden gnarly crash & burn... Ah well, that'll learn me.  Not even going to go there with my trolley and thongs...  On a positive note, no damage done to the rig! Cool

Still really enjoyed the time on the water today sailing with some of the FNQ Mob and Kaylee from Scotland- we were missing Billy, Freddo and Ian.  I am not rubbing it in, but you guys would have had an absolute ball!

Long May Our Big Jibs Draw!

Incredible that I have finally scored not one, but two PB's = I think if that Heavy Wind handn't come along I could have added some more KM's to the day.

Great score, Kel - you were well and truly lit up on that tiny 6.2m sail - had a great day with you.  Next Time.

No upload yet. Arrived in town in time just before 3 for a quick blast at Holloways. 15 to 20 and choppy. Nicely powered on the 7.5 and CA70 at times. Had to bail out in time to get gill up the hill to the family by nightfall. 25.9 on the dial...nothing to help the GI crew. Might be scratching for a sail after tomorrow by the looks.

Welcome back to FNQ Troy. If you around next weekend, hopefully we can catch up. Lads, WELL DONE. What a day over at the Island. PB's galore. Just a good solid dose of Improvement across the younger members of the team and then there was ED, the old war horse, Old Dependable. That was a top effort mate. Benny "The Lad" - 23 knts, you must have gotten into the straps this time??? Is this the beginnng of the start for you, I hope so. Good to see.

Noice comments team!  Billy, the feet were right next to, partly and directly on top of the straps whilst kamikaze-ing on the reef flats with plenty of wind assistance.  A little tender today with some battle bruises.  Plenty more goals to achieve.  I hope your right just like the ol' Carpenters song "We've Only Just Begun"  Haha CoolCoolCool
