Sweet official opening to the Primbee westerly season. Was only supposed to be a warm-up for tomorrow, however, the NW direction combined with the shallow water made for awesome sailing, so long as you had a sub 20cm fin. Saw quite a few nasty offs!! Gladly I wasn't one of them. Great sailing with Mudcrab, Bushy, Terry, Keef, Gerry and a handfull of others. I was surprised when everybody went in, it was just getting good!! Bushy came back out and had some screamers.
Started out with the GSR7.1, Naish SP95 and 17cm Kestral. When it filled in changed to the W49 and 20cm UFO. That fin just exudes confidence, even in the chop with an overpowered 7.1. GSR7.1 was gold, love it!!

Launched the foil from IYC side and managed a few runs out in the middle before the wind picked up. A couple of board changes as the wind increased but great to see westerly season has begun. Top gybe Tezza and awesome speeds Jetlag

2434 days ago Primbee, NSW, AU WNW up to high 30 knots - quite gusty
A day out in paradise - warm bordering on hot, sunny and windy! Got to Primbbe early afternoon wanting to try out my "new" McKnight iS97 and it looked a bit patchy wind-wise. Went with the 7m and this proved quite comfortable. I like the old board - handles the chop well and is reasonably quick - top speed about 35 knots or so. The wind was picking up so decided to have a break. I was almost going to packup and go home but Jet convinced me to go out on the speed board. I re-rigged and was back out on the best water of the day - surprisingly calm for the wind. Managed to snag a nice combo of gusts for the NM - very happy about that. It has been ages since a PB!
Nice to catch up with Tez, Jet, Al, Keef, Gerry & Chris.
Happy days!
