15-22kts SW Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

 6.2mOD - 80ltre isonic - 16 kestrel then 18cm FF

Well that was cold but fun! Spent the first hr on the kestrel and it behaved well but I still don't feel confident going for it in the small chop. Not much Budgy glass today - smallish chop.

Came in and changed to the 18cm FF. I was a bit worried it wouldn't hold the combo or the wind wouldn't be strong enough but it was great! The fun factor went straight to 11/10 Tongue out many whoops.. Not powered up enough for bearaways but I really enjoyed going back and forth dodging the biggest weedbergs and gybing. I'm happy with the alpha as I wasn't going for one and I was working up after each gybe..

Had to make sure I did powered planing gybes to keep off the bottom. Stacked one mid gybe.. not sure if I hit the bottom or a big weedberg..Undecided

FF held in even as I got tired and I started sailing more and more like a sack of spuds ..Laughing

Still sore in the ribs from last weeks crash on the boom and having trouble breathing so I came in for a rest.. I was going to go out again but after stressing out for 10mins trying to find my glasses and then realising I was wearing them I figured maybe I should quit while I was ahead..EmbarassedLaughing

Ian ( QLD) , Tony , Jeff , Matt , Andrew and I.. looks likes it's come in now I'm home but 20kts was perfect for me to today.Laughing

Well I might have won the "Dag of the year award" but I was toasty warm..LaughingCool

Valentine, NSW, AU

Excoet RS4, TR8 7.0 - Wind 5-15 knots SW

Gusty and cold souwester at Valentine.  First sail in a month, and first time in 3 months on the slalom board.  Rusty skills + heavy winter wetsuit etc weren't a good combinaton.  But enjoyed sailing with Glenn and catching up with Hugh on the shore, then a few hours on shore at Marmong catching up with the other guys.

Only 90 more days of winter to go.
