2231 days ago Port Ohope, Bay Of Plenty, NZ.
South east to south west winds. 8 knots in the lulls, then good 15 to 18 knots, with patches of 25 knots for times. Good session, nice flat water. Outgoing tide all day. Such a great location fo these southerlies.
Used almost everything.. started on 7.8m Severne Reflex on the 121l Isonic with T10 Carbon 40cm slalom fin. Swapped out to 7.0m Severne Overdrive R8 on the 95l Isonic and 36cm fin when the wind filled in and swung more west. It was strong. Bast down behind the sandbank. Then swapped back and forth between the 8.6m Severne Overdrive R8 on the Isonic 145l with T10 Carbon 44cm slalom fin when the wind eased and the 7.0m set up. Good long full length harbour blasts. Even poked my nose out to the entrance to the harbour for a look.
Great day out. Lovely sun. Cold winds for a time.
Well worth the travel and great company of the Curtis.
Cheers
