hoppybogan (25974km): Stansbury, SA, AU NNW-NW 20-near40 knots SXs90 blue version, GPS 5.8, 24 choco weedy Great to see Carl and Casey and Tricky rigging up when i arrived at the local. It was hooting. Rigged up and headed out for a tester on the 90. I knew i would need the proven speed machine to keep up with the guys today. It was hard work on the chop with very gusty wind. The flattish water was behind the groyne but to get to it a lot of chop had to be negotiated. Casey was handling his baptism of fire well. Not ideal conditions for his first sail at Stansbury. The tide did drop to a flatter level and we started hitting the flats. I was getting 36 a bit but wanted faster. Had a good run off the wind with Carl and got a 38 so was pleased. There was some lightening and a fire was smoking inland. We saw water bomber aircraft and it looked like the fire was getting out of control. but they got it out and the smoke disapeared. Some more lightening and then it rained hard and we sailed through the rain and came in. A great day with the Bogans. Well done all
Tricky Bogan (21799km): WoW what a day dam hard work gusts chop all the stuff to make it intersting, was a bit out of practice havent sailed for ages (too much tractor driving sitting on my arse) was great to meet Casey & sail with Captain Carl & my local buddy Hoppy. Well worn out Bunta day on the water.
Canadian Casey (2167km): Stansbury, SA, AU Got smashed by the wind today but it was nice to try a new spot. Looking forwards to coming back when it is a little calmer.
Captain bogan (50569km): Stansbury, SA, AU 25 to 35 knots. Awesome day at Stansbury with Casey, Tricky and Hoppy. Pretty stoked to back up the 42 in October with a 41 today. Used the same gear as last time and the wind was similar but the tide was lower so not able to head as far in the shallows without hitting razor fish. Started the day doing 37 to 38's and then managed to get hold of some nice bullets that helped the numbers. The gear is working unreal - definitely the best slalom board i have owned and Stansbury is one the best spots i have sailed. Bring on more like today - i love windsurfing!
