Bird Island Basin, Corpus Christi, TX, USA.  Falcon 99, Venom 7.0, ZSL34S-.

Overpowered. Poor control. I'm thinking over downhauled?

Pictures? Or ask Olivier?

Where do you sail your mast base? In the Falcons, I usually have it quite far forward. I do get control issues when I have it close to the middle, especially when conditions are challenging.

I saw Patrick Diethelm give trimming advice to a bunch of slalom sailors, including some quite experienced sailors. He pretty much always added more downhaul. He backed it up with results, coming in 1st at the race in Cervantes and 2nd in Lancelin, with only Matteo Iachino beating him. Both races had close to 100 competitors, including some of the best slalom sailors in Oz.

Great to see you are still out getting lots of time on the water Bob. You're currently running second to Alex in the 2019 USA 100m Speed Challenge https://www.gps-speedsurfing.com/default.aspx?mnu=event&val=563  Would be nice if we had more windsurfers posting times but I think most of them are scared of being beaten so don't post!Surprised I reckon you win the overall award for your age group, at 70 plus you're a legend mate. Keep doing it standing up.

Competition .. this being the GPSTC, the relevant one is the yearly rankings at http://gpsteamchallenge.com.au/rankings/individual?country=3&year=2019. Here's what it looks like today:

Talked with both Olivier and Mark Boersma (sp?) (who is in on the Venom development program) about problems.

Both concurred I had too much downhaul and mast track not foreward enough. I think I was using position in the track

and not distance from the tail. Thanks for the suggetions guys.

Yeah Roo, turned 76 last month. Can't seem to slow myself down.
