Waited and waited and then the Westerly hit just before Sunset. Started pretty good for the 6.3 then it just got ridiculous, eventually topping out with a lake-record 59.4 knot (110kph) gust while we were derigging. Deep water to start with that just got deeper when the wind surge hit so ridiculously choppy.
I sailed and I survived...enough said.

We spent about 45 mins watching it go from nothing to gentle NW to full on w- sw. I had about 1m too much sail out there in the chop with Eckers and Mark, also Ian getting ~8m airs on his kite.
