WHAT A SESSION! WOWSA!!! Gusty as all hell but windy at times. nothing, then 15, then 35 knots wind.. all over. Still, flat water and the occasional perfect direction to be lit up.
Severne 7.0R8 Overdrive, my smallest Isonic 97 and the Techtonic 36cm fury Fin. Really impressed with the stability of the gear despite the wind gusts.
Had a blast on Curtis' set up. Severne Mach1 7.0 on his Isonic 107l. Had a trial run and back down the channel, then taking advantage of the perfect gust flew down taking my new personal best! Wohoo 37knots! GPS read 37.91 knots so stoked with the 37.559 2 second peak. End of the run at the entrance of the channel I needed to head upwind hard back to the sandbar. Here it was pretty choppy / messy. Curts gear may have suffered a little to get me the top speed.
Nice new presure ding in his sail and he is in need of a new fin.. Drake DownWind Ready to Race 34cm was the biggest victim. We are not certain if Curt did this after giving back the gear, or it happened at the end of my run..
What a session. Thanks Curtis!
P.s. Speed sailing lessons can be provided by the Curtis at a fair price. You just need to use his gear hahaha.
