Typical day at Budgie, a lot less wind than advertised. Took me ages to get enough wind to get up to the bank. Once there it was patchy. Then the rain came, sometimes bringing some nice gusts and at other times bringing almost calm. Started to head for home but it dropped off completly leaving me stranded. Had to walk/swim into Brandon lane. Thanks to Matt and Graham who bought my car around which saved me an even longer walk of shame.

On the plus side the water level and weed were both good and the there was a moderate sized area of flat water.

Pretty patchy but there was a a nice piece of flatwater. It was hard to score a decent gust in it . All about the 2sec today I didn't bother trying to gybe. I got the 2 sec on the last run of the day.

I wasted the gust of the day by getting out of control and lifted and then practically sitting in the water before I got my act together and went for it..

 First speed sail in ages. It was starting to get some strong gusts but I'd had enough by then.

I hate that channel ! I hung on for grim death and made it across ok plus over 29kts at the end which is good for me . I could have waited a few minutes and it would have been a lot easier as the wind died down.

 Just me , then Andrew and Nesty . Matt and someone else came out late. Timed it well as the rain came in and it was cold ( 16 degrees). Boy I love this
