hoppybogan (26139km): Stansbury, SA, AU SSW 12-15 FF102.GPS 7.3, 28 Lessacher Caught up with Ja, Shane, Nick and Chris today and had a relaxing sail in the light breeze. Wind did not pick up later either, Good to catch up
Cheers | ||||||||||||||||||
Nobody here except us chickens (11520km): Stans. Fun times crashing into "Spoofbergs" and riding on the smooth with Hoppy, Yetti and Chris. Doubt it got over 20kt and beating up wind was work today. Most of my turns were fast tacks.
Sellicks Bogan (7276km): Stansbury, SA, AU "Shane why did you not use your big board" was all i heard all session...yep spent all session trying to stay up wind very nice and flat but the wind just never kicked, at least it reminded me of how glassy the water can be over the spit. Was on the 7.8mtr Reflex 8 and 24 Fangy on the 97 isonic. should have used the 8.6 Turbo with the 122 isonic and it would have been a great session. fun session anyway other than the short walk in from chest high water. Great to catch up with hoppy, J and Chris. havent seen the guys for a while a good year in fact. Catch up with you next time tricky! The fangy fin is in the safe hands of Hoppybogan or 3/4 :-)
Sammy (43276km): Day 6 of 6 and final Day.
Blasted with Pete for a bit of an hour. Funny story I was just going to play around today and was for a while then Daishy said how far into the hour are we. Huh I was just blasting 😂😂. Thought ok well looks like I'm doing another hour with Daishy and yell back we are half way 😂😂. Glad I did as we had close runs side by side for a long while and it was fantastic fun. Synchronized gybes to boot. Hope you got a PB Daishy 😁😁
Wow it didn't disappoint. Another 100 km to make it 640km in the 6 days for me sailing daily. Wow soo soo lucky to get the wind we have had 😁😁. 1 PB for my birthday and lots of other fun runs and numbers. 5 years since a PB maybe I'm not too old 😂😂
Carl me best mate loved every minute on the spit camping and talking crap. Best part is what is said on the spot stays on the spit 😂😂. Awesome trip mate.
Blister on my feet but well worth it. A trip worth remembering 😁😁😁.
Well done all other sailors. It was so much fun and great to meet all that I did 😁😁.
Got home around 1am 🙄🙄 | ||||||||||||||||||
Kraken Bogan (2234km): Lake George, SA, AU Great afternoon with Captain Bogan, Daishy, and the one and only 'Full Bogan' !! Plus a host of out of towners from Qld etc. 15-22 knots, tried the Isonic 80 with 6.2 R8, and Isonic 107 with 7.0, range of fins
Peter Daish (26108km): Lake George, SA, AU............... DAY TRIP WITH ROB well the slowest of Lg sessions ( but really only tried 1 broadreach run)apart from a thrashing hr with SAM. Boy did he push me. S/SE didnt really come in. started on 113 L JP and 7.8 mach , 22cm BP delta, 1st one out in 10 knots hoping for wind at 130pm ( sick of waiting) planning on absolute glass once CRAZY wind kicked then did hr with SAM with 31 bp weed , he had 6.3 and 90L 55cm, had him sometimes when wind went down but hard to combat Sam in the gusts Last 20mins my port tack harness lines snapped so struggle to hold Sam or even sail hard on port tack but held on until the end. Very happy with that result considering the large gear , 2 falls on gybes, stopping once for weed and harness lines.
At 100km went to 53cm speed 80L and 7.0 but wind died and only just got home to 5mile from the spit. LUCKY LUCKY
between the islands is shit now too much weed ( that fuffy stuff ) all over the 287 bp weed speed arghhh

Captain bogan (50629km): Lake George, SA, AU - 15 to 20. Last day and the wind came late so just cruised - body was so tired but happy to have a final day sail. Sailed over 600 k's in the last 6 days and had a unbeliveable road trip with Full Bogan - so much fun mate really appreciate everything - the laughs and shenanighans are always funny . Good to meet some interstate crew and have a chat . Patrik 87 / 6.3 ka race / Gun sails 29cm weedy. |
