Spotty (8858km): Lake George, SA, AU Good to catch up with long time no see crew at LG, Went otut 1st on the 137L, Proto Atomic25cm WS with 6.3KaRce hoping wind would peak later for the 112L. Fin worked really well considering size and lack of poining expected with the wide tail n girth of 137L. Off the wind was solid and gybes had to take a bit off care as the small fin combo does the squirrely cross up if pushed too hard. After coloring in the lake from top to bottom with tracks on 137L and seeing Mr Percival hanging with his possie on the lee side of Cockys Is headed back to 5mile @5pm and swapped to 112L with the 25 fin. This combo worked well with good pointability and solid feel once again off the wind. Got a few more runs at 5mile and the 40pk to round out a pretty cruisey day on the lake blasting with heaps a crew. Thanks for the after sail beer Hamma to wash away the taste of Duck poo, looked like you were having trouble giving that 6pk away and it wasn't even Corrona. | ||||||||||||||||||
Sailquik (29582km): Lake George, SA It looks like the early birds got the worms today, which is very unusual here as the wind usually peaks late afternoon. Forecast was for stronger wind than yeaterday, but if it was, it was earlier before I got out at 4pm. used the same gear as yesteday and went slower, but had a LOT of fun. I did a tour of the lake and raced Tricky back upwind. I hope I have some nice video. I really enjoyed the run downwind right across the lake on each run. Tried for a couple of NM's across Kevs Bay and was pleased with the best one. I got my best speed run down between the islands so I should have done a few more there. I came in when I bumped the screen on my Logit phone and it stopped talking my speeds. I think I have become addicted to it I didn't want to sail without it! Fantastic to see Tony W back on the water and blitzing agian. The Legend lives!!! Also great to see John Cutter after many years enjoying fun on the water again. There were lots of crew on the water from all over again, but mostly Vicco's and SA's, with a huge contingent of Bridesmaids and Bogans! Hoping we get an encore today. 2017 IS80, 21cm Speed Demon, 2020 KA Speed 5.7m, GW-52 (GW-60 has slightly higher numbers but much higher error)
