Unknown Location Bogan (11363km): North Haven, SA, AU. Lots of kiters, lots of those Wind-dings out. Squally as ****. The token windsurfer: yours truely. Sailed with the wind in the top half of the sail. 1% Bogan the slack **** didn't come, despite the 10 SMSs and 2 emails I sent him this morning. He would have got a 28 at least. His excuse: "Too cold !". He's as stubborn as an old Fresian cow sometimes.
Canadian Casey (2167km): Last minute trip to LG with Carl to suprise the boys after seeing bog drop off on Saturday. The wind was a bit down but had some decent gusts, managed a few long runs on the small lake had a blast going right up to the spit. I was a bit under finned but any longer and the weed would have been killing me. I think I made more gybes then I fell off, love the flat water. 7.1 Gun GSR, RRD 112L xfire BP 50deg weed 34 https://www.ka72.com/Track/t/433298 Lake George, SA, AU
Peter Daish (26108km): Lake George, SA, AU NW 5 to 25 knots Brtal brutal day, cold wet and gusty. tried the big lake on big set up and then gusted to25 and had the turn in 1 m waves then water start. went to the smooth lake on smaller set up and got stuck in middle of lake with no wind, had to walk all the way back to spit through weed beds. fun times, then by 1;30 went back out on big set up on lake and it was fun but compared to yesterday being "fuckin awesome" today was a let down. But still beautiful endless smooth water but deltas on big boards after weed speeds were "trying".
Sam just drove home today,t hats how inviting it looked Carl got the set up right and ripped it through the middle fro 80 kms. well done mate. Thought you might have to do the walk of shame home when you went 4km downwind. We were surprized to see you back at camp lol.. Awesome speed.
great camp fire great weekend. overall highlight , bending Rob's fingers straight as he was soo cold I had to bend them to get into my gloves.!! lol
Captain bogan (50569km): Lake George, SA, AU - 13 to 23 knots. What an unexpected sesh at the Golden lake. Had to work Saturday morning so couldn't make the trip with the other boys. Casey and me planned to head to Boggy with a decent forecast that dropped back on friday night. After a chat with Casey we decided to head down and surprise the other guys lol. It worked and we had a great catch up over a couple of brewskis a long time coming but well worth it - cheers boys. Forecast was really good but woke up to very little wind. Daishy tried and had a long walk back. Early arvo after Rob had left the wind started to increase. Didn't take any bigger sails than 6.3 and 87 Patrik so that's what i rigged. No bombies on the surface and light when rigging rigged the trusty Gun 29cm 50 degree. On the water lightish but was planing and after 1/2 hour the wind increased. Headed down the lake a bit and was doing some runs out the weed as was getting pulled up at times with the weed just below the surface. A few 34 knot peaks and hooked a nice gust in from of 5 mile and pulled up to see 36.6 on the screen. Had some fun runs with Casey and some nice runs from 5 mile to Cockies and saw Casey had headed in. Cheers for the road trip Casey . Luckily made trek back up wind and called it a day for the 5 hour trek home. Not as good as the forecast but always fun at beachport Lake George - love the place!!! The 6.3 Ka race with the 87 Patrik were such an awesome kit today - LOVE IT!!! Patrik 87 / 6.3 Ka race / Gun sails 29cm fin.
