Patchy  10-20kts ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU

5m gator - WT57 ( 90ltres) - 24cm WT stealth weedy ( 1st use)

then 7m Turbo same combo then 5.7m gator

A frustrating session. It felt like I  spent more time changing sails than sailing..Yell Time to change to a rashie- I was too hot in the spring suit today..

For once the wind was strongest out the front. not much above the point or at the sand islands.

When I arrived it looked 15-20kts plus. The forecast was for it to really kick in later and I was pretty tired so I thought I'd rig for later conditions Undecided..

One run with the 5m.. plodding along. I couldn't even balance against the sail and fell on the gybe due to lack of wind..Undecided 14.5kts in one little puff

The guys were on 6.6m sails.. I knew the 7m would be at the top of the range with me but it was patchy and I love that combo so I decided to give it a go.

I  handled it ok but it was pretty tiring..Got the 2 sec out in the middle and did a really nice gybe near the jetties..( too wide for an alpha). I was pretty chuffed with the  gybe as I was going over the back of waves on the entry..

A few really powered runs. The first time I've used the 24cm fin and it really settled the board..I've got used to rattling over the top of the chop at what feels like warp speed but it's a bit more laid back now with the smaller fin..

I didn't really enjoy the 7m as I kept expecting it to pickup and to have a nightmare run back across.. ..As I was tired  I decided to come in and try the 5.6m gator so I was rigged for the gusts.

By the time I got that out it was really patchy.. pity, as the 5.7m was perfect in the strong stuff ..Tongue out I had one great run down past the point which felt fully powered but nice and relaxed for once ( nm)..Also a nice bit at the end.

It was ideal conditions for the sand islands ( tide and direction) and I finally got up into the flat bit but I couldn't even get planing..Yell. Apparently it was better earlier..

Nice to have more fins than foils for once..

Craig , Ian , Lajos and Tony on the foil. greg was in the carpark but I don't know if he was out foiling??

I've always thought those Wingdings were a pretty lame invention . I almost got converted watching one of the guys today.. he was jumping the foil clear out the water , doing upwind 360's , serpentines etc and it  looked like a ton of fun!
