Lake George, SA, AU

Nice day at the office. Ended a bit abruptly with half my boom coming away in my hands - on the far side of the lake. Lucky the other half held on for a gentle ride back to the car.

I'd just done a run from 5 mile down to the spit. Had a few runs up and down there then back up to 5 mile. Made it back up and went back across the lake for one more run as it was such nice sailing. Near the far side I heard a small cracking noise and thought "that didn't sound too good". Then moments later I'm on my back in the drink...

Was going to do an hour run down the lake with Craig but he was having sooky la-la's - so lucky in the end...

CA SL 53 with Black Project 20cm delta. Started with 6.6m KA Koncept then switched to 5.7m KA Speed.

Sandy Point, Vic

A late evening short, sharp speed exercise session in the boathole. Not one Gybe. Embarassed

The annemometer saud the wind was gusting low 30's so I rigged the 4.7m on the theory I didnt want to be overdone in shuch a confined area and with the rough bearaway. It was wrong, O certainly should have been on the 5.2m as there were big soft patches between violent gusts. i was stuggling to get upwind a few times. The last run was too broad and really slow and the sun was setting so I called it a day.

It was a nice bit of fun though and gpt the blood pumping. Laughing

Gusty and underpowered with the 6.6 at the 5 mile lake end. Should have gone the Cookies like yesterday and accessed the spit.

Body a bit too sore to hang onto a 7.7 for too long

Thanks Sue - that is very kind of you. I have three other booms here for Lari and I so should be OK. That boom that broke yesterday was well over 5 years old and I should have chucked it a while ago as I reckon 2 years is about the safe limit for an aluminium boom.
