Green Island, QLD, AU

Short of no other offer locally for a sail, it was off to the Green for a day with B2 in skeptical forecasts which had the best chance of a days fun. With so much monsoon recently, the options were very poor indeed. Pleanty of timber floating around the island at moment and the weed!!!! my god, There was weed everywhere. Huge great chunks of it. Couldnt get a run in without getting pulled up. B2 regailed a tale of going over the handle bars pretty early in the piece.

Still, better than mowin the lawn. We've definately had better, but it was what the good doctor ordred to keep the sanity alive. No complaints and the company was fine to.

Used: WTSB72, 42 Drake Venom, 9.4 OD M2

Green Island, QLD, AU  Desperado sail (first for the month!) with B1 at the only location available, reasonably near that is, with any sort of wind forecast- damn real traditional Monsoon weather it has been of late!!!

More weed present than what would be found at a backyard Snoop Dogg concert & enough floating timber debris to put a sumo wrestler off their tucker!  But that still didn't stop us 2 "fully committed" bananas in pyjamas giving it a crack, albeit in what eventuated to be marginal wind conditions...

Thought I had the weed dodging under control early on in the peace only to zero in on a little submerged piece of bark "sending it" with full rotation straight over the handlebars...  Thankfully the only damage done was to the ego!

Sailed out off the tip of the Island & into the big pool for the majority of the rest of the sesh- definitely not a day for PB attempts...

B1 reckons his eye sight is not that good, but noticed he didn't have any dramas spotting what looked to be a naked tourist (one of few) strutting around on the beach back at base- on closer inspection there was some sort of new age fabric deemed to be clothing present...  Perhaps the highlight of the day, but on second thoughts, stealing the words of our great FNQ team mate Freddo~ 'once you're up & blasting about, regardless of the conditions, that's about as good as it gets!'... goes something like that anyways Laughing

Used the Jag 125, Severne M2 8.6, BP Sabre 42.5

Great write ups....glad to hear you both enjoyed yourselves in the marginal wind conditions.Smile

'Just no stopping you two'.....also good to hear no damage to any gear!!Money mouth

Benny...looks like you have a sweet tooth with all those jelly 'BEANS'.

On a sadder note....one of our older team sailers Hans Bekkers passed away a couple of days ago aged 86...or around there.

Although he had not sailed for a few years he was always on Lake Tinaroo with 'LEGENDS' Herby and Lyn and always

had a yarn to tell ....will miss him.-Cry
