Trousers (14352km): el bog, nnw to 23kts. The wind came in fits and spurts, at times very lit for the maiden voyage of my Mach Four 7.0m, paired with an Isonic 97l on top a BPR375. The west churned it up - the water state angry in the gusts but if you were lucky a heap of the gullys would line up and you'd get a smooth ride. Shallow near launch was less wind but smoother so gybes for the carpark crew. A really sunny day and great to be out on the water with so many Boggy faithful! Good times indeed.
Unknown Location Bogan (10902km): el Bog. Very challenging conditions. This would be my 3rd time sailing a Northerly at Boggy. I was in the water more than on it during the first half. But oh well. Nice sunny day and great crew
Peter Daish (26030km): Boggy Lake, SA, AU , 15 to 25 knots, 113JP 7.8 gun, 40 tribal carbon mark 2 then 35 weed speed. NNW the went NW nice sail with the boys in warm conditions for a change. changing trousers for a while on the hr attempt thought mast track was forward but kept going only to realise 30 mins later my universal joint had snapped. so much for the deck of my board which almost got worn through. ouch. was sailing a bit strange but trying to kept up with Trousers who was pretty lit on the isonic. back on weedspeed for a great spirt behind Carl . scary over the chop at 33 knots , thank god for the weed speed. would have never ever done it on slalom.
Captain skip bogan (50112km): Boggy lake - 15 to 25. Fun day on big rig with a great turnout, sunshine and wind. Arrived to a 20 odd knot breeze and alot of sun - not something we have seen alot of lately. With a recently broken mast extension i decided on the 7.8 switchblade. Used the Patrik 100 as the wind was forecasted to get stronger. 1st run out very lit and ended up down the bottom end of the lake - something different. A couple of runs back to the middle and settled in on a nice cruise with some 20 to 25 knots gusts on a 7.8 - big rig for me in this wind - might have to change my name to Oversized captain. Had alot of fun and the rig and board were effortless even in the big gusts. Managed a couple of fully powered runs with Daishy and after a downwinder managed to find a 25 knot bullet gust that flattened me . Great day with a great turnout and over 20 degrees - almost boardie weather ...soon Patrik 100 / 7.8 loft switchblade / R375 Black project fin.
Soto (523km): I went to Middleton for a surf session with the kids... But the wind was strong enough to windsurf and too offshore for a good wave sailing. I had the crazy idea to rig my slalom gear, try to escape to the waves and sail far from the shore. The wind was gusty but it was fun. Gear of the day: RRD X-Fire 98 & S2 Maui Venom 6.3 |
