Southerly came through overnight so Phil shamed me into a weekday sail at the expense of an afternoon of work. Lucky he came, as I left the wetsuit at home and had to borrow his spare. Was 20-25kNts and very testing conditions with heavy confused chop but with the 6.5 ezzy pulled flat, the Fox 105 was barely manageable but not fast. Probably could have dropped back to the 84L Naish but too much effort. Just couldn't get the power down properly, although a few good jumpable wave faces making me wish I was on Phils FSW. Tide dropped and wind eased to just under 20kNt so conditions reverted to 'normal' chop and could go hard. Best Alpha for the year amongst all that, which I'm happy with given the sea state.

Great to break up the work week with a quality session.

First holiday sail with Geoff and the rest of the scally wags down here in Hervey Bay. Been blowing its rear end off here in the last 48hrs, but all SW. Sad, cause it turned the water in close almost glassy. Any way's, the breeze shot round to the SE late in the arvo allowing for only 3 or 4 wind lines across the channel. 0 - 20, dredge, dredge, dredge.....20..... Water temp insanly noice. Wildlife to boot, and hit Surprised. Took out a very large turtle, just as I got up on the plane, which sent me over the handlebars. These things were huge, the size of wheelbarrows at times. No damage done, fortunately.

Cant wait for the northerly to return Fri, Sat - big long runs down the sand bar. Fingers crossed. Awesome arvo on the water.

Used: WT SB72, WT Phantom 42, 7.8 ODM1

20 knot alpha Troy...nice work in the bouncy stuff.

Dont know how you were holding the 6.5 in those gusts. The 5.9 was a handful.
