7m Turbo- Windtech64 ( 112ltres) - 32cm WT weedy a few runs
7m Turbo - WT57 ( 90ltre) - 28cm WT weedy one run
then 5.7m Gator- WT57 - 24cm Stealth weedy one run
I've been sedentary with a virus since the GPS event. I didn't know if I'd be up to sailing but figured I could do one run and take some photos.
I didn't do much or go very far but I had fun and think I survived ok ! I'm stoked. Back in the life of the living..
My throats a bit sore plus the cough has come back but hopefully it won't flare it up too much.
Now I just need to get back up to fitness etc..
I didn't think I'd be up to the big sail so I tried an unusual combo for me - the 7m on the big board..It wasn't bad. It was a patchy 10-19kts so I only got going a few times but the lake was flatter than normal so the big board was ok.
I came in for a rest and to take some photos . It looked like it had come in so I decided to try the 90ltre. I was pretty powered up at times with that in some 20kt patches so I didn't stay out long. More rest and photos and then I rerigged the 5.7m - 24cm fin in the WT57.
That was good although I only stayed out the front where it wasn't as strong and only did one run. I was feeling weak and a bit sick so called it a day. I didn't do my usual run above the point as I was worried I'd get into trouble being unfit / sick etc. The chop was a bit more N than usual which meant starboard tack wasn't as peaky as usual.
Lovely to sail a NE again!
Good to have more fins to sail with- Mark , Maree , Lajos, Gert ( wing then fin) , Nic ( foil then fin), Andrew & Hugh on foils, plus assorted wings.
I went past Nic foiling nicely about 30cms above the water.
I hate this expresion but it fits- ' back in my happy place..'
I'll post some pics and videos when I get them done.
