Wellington Point, QLD, AU CA 70 7.5 38 Wow that was surreal. I had it on my own for probably 20 minutes. Felt like I was in the Matrix! Had the sun for 15 minutes and other times sailing with one eye closed to protect it from the heavy rain. Would have to be the best sail I’ve ever had up the speed bank.

Meh. Should have stayed dry. Best runs were when I first went out. Easterly Wind behind the sandbank. Eased off and changed more to E/SouthEast on occasions. A bigger sail may have helped. FF90 / Loft 5.6m2 / Talon 32 Wellington Point, QLD, AU

Great to get a sail up and down the bank after Burrum. Got down at 7am waiting until 9:30am and went solo run for an hour or so in about 13-15 knots. Steve arrived and sailed 50 metres and his mast broke and it literally ghosted him and put in a 2 second pb on its own heading for the markers as somehow the sail stayed up. Saw it happen on the beach and Steve couldnt swim for it so took off with some rope. Got smashed with a 30knot gust while trying to tie my rig to his and almost lost my own gear and managed to attach it and start a long trip back up near the bridge and second beach. So glad Steve got his gear back and a big thanks to Steve for hist gift of an atomic carbon fin for saving his gear. Hope to get a PB with it. Some surreal sailing with everything turning to glass when a rain storm hit and the board literally had zero slap from no chop, was a great experience.

Wow what a nioce little sesh, started a bit grim and then turned on the goods!  Tops to see quite a few get down for a late easterly, I hadn't really sailed that direction was a lot of fun with flat stuff both ends for a U.

Congrats on a great day out guys. My first sail at Wello was one to remember. Only sailed a few metres and the mast broke. Then the board just kept going on its on with the sail somehow jamed up right. It went for a few hundred metres, then the sail dropped and it kept slowly drifting. I cannot thank Ben enough for rescuing the gear that I thought would never see again. It would have been 2km out when he got it. When I saw him come in towing the board I thought the rig was gone as it was under water. So to get it all back I cannot describe how lucky I felt as this is an expensive kit. Thanks again mate, super human effortCoolCongrats on the PB DaveTongue out
