Port Douglas, Solander. 95l Tabou Manta race board. 5.7 KA race sail, 31cm fin. Hard to pick the wind here; so chose a slightly too small sail. Was underpowered for the 1st hour, had to pump a lot to get going. Getting the hang of the new sail. Feels very efficient. Was able to stay on the plane through lulls that I didn't have a right to on a sail that small. Wind filled in later. Waves were diabolical out the back, very tough going. But smooth inside and some good speed could be found even though the wind was light. It was another great Port Douglas session. And no one else out!

Nice session mate. Good to see you clocked up some serious kms in choppy Port Douglas. Well done. Glad you like you’re new sail.👍👍😎

Thanks Ed. These last few days have really capped off the season nicely. Finally got to unwrap the new 5.7 and am slowly getting used to this crazy chop. My hands are absolutely shredded now so I can head back to Sydney satisfied that I've got to experience plenty of great FNQ windsurfing. Will definitely swap out this full-on slalom board for something much better suited to this chop. Next year we need to organise a boat for some reef trips. It's still high on my list of things to do to head out to one the cays and rip along the smooth slallow water all day long. I find myself eyeing off boats online but it would probably be a dumb idea to actually buy one. But you never know... If I don't catch you today, see you next year. MH.
