rsoles! with Ant, Kai and Jim

Tribal Rapid 53, KA Speed 5.7, Tribal 23 Asy MK2 G10.

New wheels for the fridge trolley last night, drove through armageddon on the freeway to arrive at 10am to rain, lightning and no wind. Figured it would come in at some point so we made our way in and rigged. When it did come in it was awesome. Broad, gusty and shortlived. First run was the best 10 sec for me with a 40, but my timing was crap and there wasn't much pressure when I needed it. Kai and Ant followed, Kai getting a sick gust and PB. Tried a few more but still no wind where I needed it- a couple more 40kt peaks, then the wind backed off. An hour or so later the wind had swung more to the west and backed off but there were still some little bullets coming through- best 2 second happened in one of these with 43 vmax, but too short for a 10sec. Got another 43 max about 15 minutes later and then it was all over red rover, or so we thought since the wind clocked full westerly, and dead square. Tried but was getting cramps by then so back to the trolley, and derigged. Of course as soon as I did that it booted in at a great strength and direction- best all day. It teased us all the way back to the car and then rubbed it in even more by booting in hard and epic as we got to the fence... doh!

Drove to Melville because I really wanted to try my Radix 88 (56cm) slalom board so rigged the 6.3 and did 2 runs. Arms were cooked. Was totally overpowered sending it though the slop. Second run coming back I was done- front arm could not hang on. But the board felt great Cool Both runs 36kts vmax...

Great vid Jim! Hard to tell from the footage but the wind was absolutely howling with Chris JUST hanging on the the 6.3.

The board looked great thru the chop Chris. Big respect for you venturing out there! I was very happy to stand on shore and observe.
