Coal Point, NSW, AU 4.7 Cheetah 1500 flow. Should have gone much smller foil. Windier than predicted by 3-5 knots I reckon. Still lots of fun and not too many jellies. Fair bit of weed off Coalie but nice and clear up Belmont way. Lots out. Andy disappeared somewhere, I suspect he did a Pulbah run.

Gusty Easterly 10-15+ knots. Jellyfish report for tomorrows NSW Foil course race. Only area of thick jellies is 100-200 m out along the shoreline near the Club. Rest of the sailing area is fine.

10-18kts E- ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU

 7.5m WT64 ( 112ltres) - 35cms tectonics weed demon

 then 7m turbo- WT57 ( 90ltres) - 28cms WT weedy

A lovely session. The most enjoyable I've had since I got back into it post injury. It felt like old times NEs.

It was predicted to cloud in later and maybe rain so I went out early.

A bit patchy at first but it filled in a bit once I got above the point and I had a lovely comfy reach across towards Toronto and a nice bearaway back past the point. Nice to not be worried about being overpowered on the big gear. Got all my gybes.

It was picking up and getting more consistent so I rigged the 7m plus 90. I was pretty buggerd by now ( exhausted before I started) so I muffed my gybes and fell in a few times trying to shorten the harness lines on the fly . Good fun.

Another nice run across to Carey and bearaway back past the point. It wasn't as lumpy as usual . It would have been good to be more powered up so I  could go for it in the flatter spots.

I'll have to chop some tubing off and shorten the lines. I used a different boom and the lines were too long.

Heaps out - Nick looking good on the windfoil , Andrew, Tony , Greg and Ewan?? on windfoils. Gert , Brett , Glynn and assorted others on wings.

One advantage of being on a fin is I don't even notice the weed and jellies. Cool

I was well powered up today. Thought i’d be going heaps faster. Talking to a fella in WA about using smaller fins on wide board. Might be an idea. Wanting to push top speed of the big bus SLW.

I tried Mistral Explosion 145ltr board half way through with a 50cm Mistral freeride fin then Curtis 55cm pointer. I couldn’t make it go more than 19kts.

Jibes felt great on the bus. Getting better each session at them now. No idea how a got 17kt alpha in the past when i was not making jibes near as good as i am now.

A video I made from Sue's footage. It made it for me , so I have a fair bit of footage of me , but it gives a good idea of the day.
