Last minute decision and a very nice boss led to my lad and I heading to LG this morning for a long weekend. Blair persisted for an hour or so with my help for his 3rd attempt windsurfing. With 20knots and a kids 3m sail, it was tough for him to manage. We'll try again tomorrow morning when the winds are lighter. We launched from Packhams as 5 mile looked packed and I wasn't sure I'd be able to turn around with the caravan on. Packhams was a good viewing point for Blair as that's where almost everyone was tacking up to to try and find smooth water. I headed out for a couple of hours on my 7.0 Severne R8, 113l JP and 24fangy. Wind blew 17-20knots. I tried a couple of speed runs but with conditions I thought my time was better spent practising alphas. I managed more planning gybes today than all my other planning gybes put together, so I was happy. I'll do similar tomorrow, not aiming for massive k's as Blair will get very bored waiting. Took the lad 4wd last night with spotties. Came across 3 wombats. We found a clear wombat walkway where Blair set up his trail cam. We will go back on Sunday to see if he got some close ups. Looking forward to seeing Hogan's rock up today and to collect my speed board (not that conditions will suit using it this weekend). Water is still far too high. I think April might be the golden month.

First sail in nearly 12months

Forgot to charge the GPS, popped it on when I went down to the 6.3m had two runs and hit ground near the spit, the sail didn't survive. Frown

Ran faster earlier in the day on the 7.1m but over powered
