Trojan (8413km): Mackay, QLD, AU Wiond didn't really deliver as promised and watwer wasn't as flat as expected, given a very neap tide, but still a fun sail. Phil and Chris came out at the end but missed the best of the breeze. Fox 105, 38cm Tribal Powermax, Ezzy Lion 6.5
dr cam (41674km): Green Island Evo 12 6.6 88 l FMX Tribal 20 -poor call today ... Skunked ...

Benny McCarthy (15213km): Green Island, QLD, AU Nice sesh in Far North QLD Tropical Paradise, albeit in a dying breeze... Caught the early boat over with Ed & Rick. We were all uber keen to get out on the water! Had a couple of fun runs with the latte boyz before poor Rick's session was cut way too short, hitting a stick in the water, causing an unexpected stack heading straight through his sail panel resulting in a nasty shoulder injury. Certainly feel for you mate, best wishes for a speedy recovery! Ed was the medic first on scene, making sure all was ok, all unbeknowns to me at the time - he managed to get some more time out on the water and looked good blasting around before packing up. Dr Cam arrived for the late session, but by this time, the wind was certainly on the downward trajectory... Used the ol' XO 100lt, Severne 7.8 M4, Tribal WS31, then Tribal Delta 22 No chance to use the speed run today with too much E in the wind again "Long May our Big Jibs Draw!"

Eddy (24342km): Green Island, QLD, AU. YEAH was hoping for a good GI session today but it didn't all go to plan..Was first on the water and having a bit of fun on the Drag strip and giving the 105 Fox a quick tune up had free ride 7m with to much down haul and 38cm fin, things were looking ok for a good day on the water..Then i saw my wing man Rick Drifting in the ocean so i went to see what was going on..it wasn't a good look he was trying to derig a totally trashed sail while drifting out to sea and had no movement in one arm as he had totally destroyed his shoulder he hit some drift wood and had a major wipe out..I had to go in to rescue mode and spent almost an hr getting him back to shore and sorting his trashed gear out.. He handled the bad situation every well and stayed strong the whole time..i was impressed..couldn't get him home till 230 boat arrived so i went for another quick blast out the front in a very choppy and confused sea and a gusty breeze which was starting to drop off..Fox ran sweet and never put a foot wrong... I tried out a new mast combo today.. Blue line race for the bottom peace and gorilla wave for the top peace..it felt good and twisted off nice when the big gust came through.. Not sure what the' Severne Crew who made those mast would think ,but it felt good to me..All good fun cheers Ed...
Sailpilot (8124km): Mackay, QLD, AU Quick high tide sail withut much water with Troy and Chris from Sydney, was expecting more wind but a few planing runs is better than nothing. Patrik 115, loft 7.8, tribal 40 |
