245 days ago W- WSW. 5-10kts patches 10-12kts and some 15kts plus before rain Coal Point, NSW, AU- short pyramidal chop from 2 directions. Bad at the sand islands with wind opposed tide. Hardwork but fun!
7.5m Turbo- Tabou Bullit 125ltres - 38cms tectonics weedy then WT64 ( 112ltres) - 35cms tectonics.
Pretty patchy at first but the big board got me going at times. It kicked in 10- 15kts and the big board was a bit too big so I went in to get the WT. Got the 2 sec on the Tabou on the way in as the chop was a bit flatter.
The WT is much livelier and fun although harder work in the lulls.Got some stronger stuff in a rain band and headed into the sand islands. The water is still brown so I didn't see the sand till the last minute. I hit bottom but I was already self ejecting..
I came in when it eased off and waited around as it was saying 15-25kts + at Norah. Gert and Steve arrived with wings and it was gusting 20kts plus so they rigged small and it then died.
It looks like I got the best of it.
