Coodanup, WA, AU Da Pond with a great crew. Wind on and off as usual. Tide supa high which allowed me to send it on the south side of da weed bank. Felt sketchy at first as I didn’t know how deep it was so I was waiting for the catapult but it was fine. NXT run had a good gust so I went for it and it felt good, flat water and bullets all da way. Definitely worth the risk and I’ll be back in da some spot on a high tide 😎👍 88ltr 6.3 R/Blade 22 deltaspeed

A few runs in average wind with great blokes, so a good morning session. Markoz 56 tribal 6.4 wp27

Leschenault, WA, AU pretty rubbish session really. Very erratic wind and washing machine water conditions

Heron Pt

Thought there would be some smoother water and stronger wind down there so rigged 6.2 in anticipation... it didn't happen. Boz was out when we got there and looked pretty lit in a squall, Dan was rigging, and Jim stayed around and got the drone out.

Started on the 135 and 38MK3, but shifted down to 118/34 when it looked like the wind was coming... it didn't. Similar speed on both setups, and fastest runs heading back to the beach near the carpark.

Good to see you blokes scored something up at the pond. I wouldn't recommend Heron Pt unless its dead west and the tide isn't so high... It was much lumpier than last time, with not so much regularity in the chop. Was more like melville hahaha but gustier... Looks like it was just one of those days. Good to get away!

Birchmont, WA, AU

Thought I would try Herron Point today, bit gusty and tide way high but good to do a few runs. Had to keep your wits about you one minute hit with a gust next zero wind, bit of a balancing act on a 80L board. Nice to have company with Dan and Slowie on the wate and Flex keeping an eye out if we got into troubleLaughing

Pt Herron, WA

A mixed session with mixed results. Started out on CA48 speed + 6.1 Loft Spd Blade, then jumped on Tribal 53 and got skunked and had a long haul getting back to shore (the walk of shame). Jumped on the trusty WindTech 9'4" in the end and had some fun with the last couple of gusts that came through. Good catching up with Boz, Slowie and Flex. Hope you managed to get some footage Jim. Glad I provided some amusement to the onlookers (Boz et al). :-)

Coodanup, WA, AU. Arrived and everyone standing around chatting.   There was some wind and tide rising and a new camera mount fresh off the printer to test and play with so went out.  Was nicely powered getting to the pond but once in it was another chug fest with the odd gust.  Eventually some more wind but still intermittant.  Water was over the Samphire by the time I got to the viewing platform where the only flatish water was but this was in wind shadow from the trees, was way under powered again and then stand around.   Spent an hour of typical pond conditions on my own before Jay and ? came in on bigger sails but by this time I'd had enough and got out of there.  Richo and Woody just launching as I arrived and left the pond to them.  Rigged down and headed to Herron.  Of course wind booted and I missed it all.

At Herron just Boz's vehicle but no sign of Boz or his sail with the water police boat searching for something where the runs were.  However, eventually Boz appeared from deep in the corner of the bay.  He was chugging, then going so wasn't looking that appealing so didn't rig as only had my small board and didn't want to play about in deep water on this.  Poz turns up and goes out on his small board and I chased/chugged with him with the drone and he was making it all look like a lot of hard work.  Slowy turns up, Boz comes in and then after some chatting chased Slowie with the drone.  By this time I was freezing sitting around in the wet wet suit so changed and burnt all the drone batteries.   Pos was still making it all look hard. Was gonna leave but wind booted and Slowy seemed to be enjoying it so started recharging the drone batteries and some more chasing.

Nice speds Richo Woody and Jay.

Shame Pt Herron didn't pay off. Interesting that Slowy thinks it needed more west, I though Herron needed NNW?

Jim, I'm looking forward to a convertable fin. Something long with some lift for the bumpier pits that shrinks when it gets to the thicker weed.

Ben,  Thats the warp fin.   You should give it a crack.  Be interested to see what you think as it works well with your old board and does what you are asking.

Quick video of Slowy at Herron today.  Tried to get action of Boz and Dan but they both insisted either chugging or being way over the other side which was too far for the drone in that wind.   Try and watch on big screen if you can.

Nice going fellasCool What happened to Slowy's hat?

Flex

In the video at time stamp 1:43 it appears Slowy looses hat.  However, it was a board, fin and hat change and just lazy edit.     The last frame with the hat on he was 2 1/2 km from launch spot going away fast which meant a long upwind slog back for the drone.   In addition, at low altitudes I was also getting frame breakup so I turned around and took 40% of battery to get back.  The next frame where there was no hat was just after he launched with gear change and he agreed not to go so far out to be safer for the drone.
