Hawks Nest NSW, Myall River. From nothing comes something. Low expectations when i got out there on the f-race 120 - 7.5 - 23 pepe and found out the wind was not as strong as it seemed.
Straight back in for the SLW 165 28ff and even then, no power in the pool this morn.
Anyway, settled in to doing some lovely laps and checking the place out.
Birds checking me out from the mangroves just meters away. Nice smooth water.

Then the sailing adventure of my life began. I had been wondering about getting out through the small channel and today i took it on. A bit shallow water on the other side after walking past the mangroves so i decided not to venture further before work.
Might be good out there in more open wind, but there will be strong river current. I’ll try again some day on higher tide.

I like the chattering sound the boards make on flat water going fast, in ultra light wind going slow the big SLW makes a similar sound and i dig it.

I thought the windsurfing addiction would loose it’s grasp in winter. Maybe not. Not sure yet, the surf was not real good. When the surf is good, if i choose to windsurf instead, then it’s all over, i’ve changed from surfing to sailing. Didn’t think that would ever happen.

Standing square on the board for downwind run home with a flare gybe. Not possible in anything more than a few kts of wind I guess, and that’s all it was. Nothing like those crazy foil tracks they make though.
