Point Grey, WA, AU. Started early with a nice steady breeze, lots of rain and lots of rainbows so on the medium gear with some serious tugs on the fin from the weedbergs.  Got about 3km and wind dropped to zero.   Not possible to chug so walked back.   Chatted to Boz for a while then wind decided after a time to pick up....had some near over the handle bar moments and wind was booting so came in to change to smaller gear as Dan turned up.  Regretted the decision to change sails  was underpowered most of the time but stuck with it.  Managed to rip the fin trailing edge on the limestone stringers deep in roberts bay so came in to cut the bottom few cm off when Nauli arrived.  Boz and Dan were playing over in Austin bay but I was suspcious of the wind but eventually went over for a look.  Was much nicer over there with long runs however often periods of chugging.  Kept thinking I should stay closer to the car park and started heading back but each time nearing the point the wind would boot and too tempting so turned around.  It always felt more epic than it was with lots of stinging rain.  Eventually got tired of this cat and mouse game with the wind and headed back for good to find I was 1km shy of 100 and the car park crowded so out again for a quick chug.   Wind spun west so it was all over.    Dan made the right call going with 7m as was going all the time.  iSonic 86, KAR 5.7, FF22 Warpdrive V2

Finally a bit of wind without a monster storm surge. Got there mid afternoon to watch the last gust disappear, then red arrows on seabreeze. Figured it would come back since it swung NW, and it did. Patchy at first then filled in OK as the tide dropped.

7.7m Apache, 118 Radix, 34MK3. Used smaller fin to accomodate a dropping tide, and only touched the bottom once starting the last run. Some nice gusts came through for a bit, and got a bunch of 37/38s. Best 10sec was a sick run back to the carpark with 37.83kts.

More of this please! Best day of winter so far... Melville isn't so bad.

Great session out at Boombas today with a few of the usual suspects! Very glad I picked the 7.0 Jim - tricky choice in those conditions. Had fun blasting around Austin bay on an old vintage Windtech 920 Pro-Race from 1992 + 7.0 Ezzy Lion. Changed over to the more recent 9'4" CM after a footstrap screw sheared off in the older board. Heaps of fun and nearly got thrown a few times on a couple of nasty weedburgs - glad I had a Delta fin on (21cm Pepe). Good to catch up with Flex, Boz, Tim and saw Waricle & Gloria about to head out as I was finishing up.
