Mick Saunders (12381km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU NE 10-15 knots and a good workout. Good turnout to. w 125 730 Naish 5.0
Tibor (18470km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU Now, this is more like it! Nice E/NE settled in eventually.
Everyone came in tired but happily . See how we go next weekend at Jimmy's?
Croanster (953km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU. Fantastic arvo out on the foil! Probably 15 knots with some chunky gusts thrown in. Proper spring NE today. Took my 6.0 with 900 front wing and a -1 shim in my -2 stabiliser. Very controllable - think Im getting the equipment balanced out, now just need to work on the skill levels!
Ian Wright (16387km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU Nice E/N/E 10-15 knots but a bit gusty at times. Plenty out today and quite a few crashes in the tricky gusts. I avoided crashing but came close a few times. FFF175 , HGO 8m , IQ 115+ 800.
GeoffS (8272km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU JP Hydrofoil 155 Flow 1500 Gaastra 6.0 Thats what I like. Can someone order more. Everyone had big grins.
mick13B (2132km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU SB 150ff 6m fg gtrfree foil. Not a fun sail could of been on the 5m Up n down like a yoyo on the foil could not really Get a steady flight. Big gust were way too much.. I don't believe the 2 sec nearly breaking 16kt again that out of control the rest shows how good I really went
Kev (783km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU E-NE 8-18knots. FFF 200, 6.0m Sailworks Retro, Axis 799. Plenty of wind direction and strength changes today. First go on the Red Sled was always going to be interesting. Harder to get going but plenty of leverage upwind. Challenging conditions but plenty of good runs and plenty of crashes. Best distance at Marmong so far. Great day with the gang.

sboardcrazy (25737km): 10-18kts E Coal Point, NSW, AU 5m Matador - 130ltre Fone - 1800 front wing for c 1.30hr ( not all of that moving time ) totally demoralising then a short fin to make myself feel better. Wing attempt no 6- PB 2 sec 12.6kts ( probably as I fell off the back ) 7.2m Moto - WT64 ( 112ltres) - 35cms Tectonics weedy My plan was to try and foil. Take my time get myself together etc..I think there was too much wind for that setup. Eventually I'll be using it in a patchy 8 - 12kts. I suppose I got out and back and stood up but my wing control was RS ( need ground practise) and as soon as I got powered up I'd shoot up onto the foil and go off the back. I didn't even have enough taxiing time to check out my foot position. Someone suggested putting the foil further back in the box which I did but I still had the issue ( probably pilot error) and Brett told me to put it back in the middle. I kept on getting wrapped up in the leashes . Next time I'll go to Marmong. I'm ready to sell the stupid thing. I don't know that I have the patience to wait months to learn. Went for a short run on the WT64. It must have been 15-18kts + in the gusts as I was well powered with that combo. I was very tired and stuffed the last gybe. The sail landed upside down and the wind got it . The gear was moving downwind quicker than I could swim. I finally got it at my last gasp..heart attack material. demoralising. I'm getting too old for this. I'll have to get my GPS alarm setup so at least I can ring for help if I'm floating out in the middle of the lake.. A very demoralising day. |
