 5 - 12kts E- ENE Jimmies Beach Hawkes Nest

7.5m Turbo- 125ltre Tabou Bullit - 38cms Tectonics weedy

My 1st sail here.

I didn't think I'd get going but it looked so flat and inviting I decided to go for a plod. It was lovely heading out over the small swells .

Patchy but there were a few 10-12kt patches out near the Spit which were fun. I felt like going for miles but it was geetting a little more choppy and I was aware of how far out I was.

I probably missed the best of it coming in for a rest and talk to a friend.

By the time I went back out it was over. Dave joined me and we only just got back in. It was a real balancing act on that gear.

Even underpowered and overcast it was lovely!  I've got to come back here on a good NE forecast.

Dave said there were dolphins near us but I was too focussed on staying upright..

Looking forward to some more wind over the weekend. Hopefully it won't be too rough.

Very rare that a NE would start and stop with no storm here, but god damn that's what happened. Damn! Walk of shame for me. I tried sailing back up but it died again. Anyway, could have been worse. Could have got stuck out there and attacked by dolphins.
I can't post because i left the GPS on when driving out.
Pretty sure i drove faster than the 7kts i did sailing too.

See what tomorrow brings for the regatta crew in this wacky weather.
