62 days ago Point Grey, WA, AU. Lucky day today. Arrived just as wind booted and enjoyed 2hrs of near perfect conditions sailing by myself. Did one run over to Austin bay and never seen conditions so good but decided to wait for others before hanging out. Afternoon shift of Gloria, Waricle, Rob, Shroom, Richo and new face Terry rolled up. Gloria first out and that second wind dropped and off the plane. Tried another lap but was chug fest so came in thinking that was it. Lucky I did as checked the new Warp drive fin and the TPU had sheared close to (but not at) the PETG interface and was rotating about the mast. Strangley it felt fine the entire time, rock solid and each run was 30+ kts. Was gonna call it and head to Melville when Richo talked me into staying. Tide had dropped a lot so changed to the original FF22 (which is now about FF18). Went straight bay to Austin bay and was joined by Rob, Richo and Shroom and we all had a blast and wind really booted. Wind started shifting west as it always does but was so so tempting to try just another bear away in near perfect conditions so started heading back. Nearly got back to the point when a complete whiteout with balistic wind hit. Decided to stop and started walking to what I thought was the point but seemed the wind was shifting and I was walking around in circles totally disorientated so just sat there for 5 mins till could see enough to see the point. Shroom and Rob were all heading back and looked sorted but Richo was doing opposite..last I saw of him he was heading deep into boggy bay at what must have been 40kts. Just got back to the car park when wind died completely. We all waited patiently (1 1/2 hrs?) for Richo to walk pretty much the whole way back across Roberts Bay. iSonic97, KAR 5.7, FF22 warp drive V10 for first 60km then the epic bit with FF22(18)

Started of slow, wind wasn’t playing ball, then again I did only rig a 5.2 sail😂ended up being a lot of fun sending it, more wind would have been nice. Couple flat spots but chop city in general. Great catching up with slowone, Jay, Tim and a couple old faces.

Boombas a day that had a bit of everything.
Arrived as Jim was exiting the water and saying that I’d missed it and he was thinking of packing up and heading to Melville. As we talked the wind came back in and after changing his fin Jim jumped on his board and headed out.
10 mins later I was on da water for the first time in many weeks and apart from a few spin out it felt great. 35 knt 2 sec first run and water state was good (flat ish). Then I entered Austin bay and it was weed burg city.
Soon after a white out was coming my way so blindfolded I went for it. I couldn’t see the burgs but could definitely feel them . After about an hr I couldn’t see anyone else on da water and I was disoriented and went in search of the car park. Eventually I couldn’t see some cars parked in da distance and about 500 Mtrs away the wind died then went south at about 5 knts so I began the long walk.
Thanks to Jim Pete Rob and Shroom for hanging around waiting for me to return.
All in all a great sesh with as always some like minded legends.

62 days ago Melville... that was fun
Got there and looked OK NW, and some gusts that looked like 25kts or so... yeehar its on. Rigged the 7m with 110Radix and a 29 weedspeed since it was shallow for once. Wanted to see how this fin held up in the 110. Saw Jay hit a sick gust while I was rigging- nearly turning melville into a dolphin abattoir . By the time I got out the wind had backed off to planing some of the time... doh. After a frustrating hour of this, I decided to go radical and rigged the old 8.7m KA I keep for a rainy day. As soon as I rigged it the wind came back in, but not enough to get excited so I plugged it into the 110 still with 29 weedspeed. Surely that wouldnt work. To my surprise it felt more than OK and I could get upwind... and navigate the bank. With a bit more gas I had a ball. The wind came back a bit and I was getting powered up- the chop was pretty crazy outside the sand bar but was really nice over the shallows. Got a couple of 37s on the dial and a 36kt 10 second... decided it was time to put the 7m back on. Was a bit better but lucky gust territory. Saw Boz hit a great bullet at the perfect time- he was hollerin and hootin so obviously it was a good one... Jay was smashing out some great runs consistently. He must be a wind magnet :) Decided to go back in just as the front came through and got my best run on the northern end of the bar in building chop... wicked fun. Had a beer with the lads (thanks Jay) and went back out in the WSWer after sticking a 38 pointer in. Hit 36kts over the other side of the river in the wind swell.. so nice. Will be feeling it tomorrow...
