Flex (17936km):
5 days ago Melville Beach, WA, AU. Quick blast in the sun. Enough water to play in the flats away from the crowds. Probably should have rigged smaller. Foot strap started playing up again so called it. iSonic97, KAR 6.3, FF22(18)

Quick sesh at Albany on a gusty SW after the drive from Perth. Very low tide and lots of weed on da surface but plenty of smooth along the weed bank. Had to walk 150 mtrs to get some depth to get going but after that all good and on da plane all the time. Weed was quite soft so easy to sail through where it as patchy.
Easterlies will start tomorrow and Monday and Tuesday look like being 👌,
Happy days in Paradise 😎

7.7m 110 weedspeed 31 and then mk2 36.
Got off the plane this morning from a week away, and had to do the grocery shopping so didn't get on the water till after 3. Boz and Flex were derigging, and Jay had a great session in. I was optimistic so rigged the 7.7m for the switchoff.
Pretty gusty to start with and hard to line up a gust with all the dingers and freeriders out. Tide too low for the flats and a normal fin, but just deep enough for the middle part- but it was pretty choppy. As the tide came in through the afternoon chop got significantly worse, and it swung more to the south as expected.
Then it booted! 30kt+ gusts coming through. Awesome! Was overpowered at times on the 7.7m and the chop turned into pyramid nightmare. The combination of tide and wind angle resulted in no flat water at all where I could sail. It was pyramid chop everywhere. Kept trying... having a ball being maxed out- going until it got super patchy, then beer with the lads, then hopped over to the nearby BBQ to resume family responsibility with a strategically located catchup with non-ws friends. Fireworks across the river... perfect.

Early sesh at Melville, tides were okay to get over the bar with a 31. Called it early, probably missed the best winds but maybe not the tides. Always fun gybing on the outside washing machine. Rest day tomorrow back into it at Albany, that’s if the Kangaroos clear of the speed run, it’s shallow when there’s a Roo in the middle of the speed run😂
