Doddi (7662km):
15 days ago First sail in a long time. New gear. Stoked how the sail felt. New loft RB 6.6 It was the biggest I’ve used in 4 years. A bit under finned on the AV98. But I managed to get on the water and absolutely enjoyed myself. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Fantastic to see the rest of the team so pumped up. 👍

15 days ago 1 categories Albany, WA, AU Bit of an epic birthday sail. Was a bit of a late start as looking after the old man who just had a mini stroke plus a biopsy on prostrate yesterday that went a bit wrong. Got down to the Poodle and one other hard at work. Rigged and Nina and Peter were now out. Tried for an NM and hr first whilst fresh but the wind was up/down and many times off plane. Windxtasy, Doddi, Dave and a few others came out. Tide was coming up quickly as was the the ever diminishing smooth spot near the flags. Was aiming and accelerating for this flat spot and still bearing away when suddenly the Poodle dropped in on me..litterally. He was going about 37kts and me about 32kts...we both spotted each other and reacted when about 1m apart, our boards touched just as they went parallel and I was sitting on his sail...somehow neither of us crashed and both sailed on. Unfortuantley no cameras rolling. Had I gone upwind just another second he would have T-boned me and I'd be in hospital with the old man. The Poodle was shaken and had to stop but I carried on as felt the wind booting. Glad I did as very next run got a nice gust for my speed of the day in the last of the flat water. Boz showed up and wind eased off so came in for a drink and discussion with the poodle. T'was decided I go for 200km and he for 150km.. Afternoon shift of Antman, Stretch and Richo rolled up. Wind booted and really needed to change down but hung on as best I could but just sailed conservatively as didn't want to push my luck any further. Got the agreed distance and decided to call it quits despite plenty more daylight to save a bit in the tank for tomorrow. Rigged down, drove off, rear tyre delaminated after 100m (yeah, I know, tooo much fanging)...had taken the spare out to make room for gear. Called Tesla roadside assist and was pleasantly surprised they delivered a spare loaner wheel and had it fitted within 20mins...pretty good for late friday afternoon. Whislt waiting for the wheel, the old man calls and tells me excitedly he's been in Denmark hospital most of the day getting more tests/scans etc and now booked in to Albany for some proceedure (forget what) but was something positive and he sounded happy. Enough excitment for one day. Sound like gonna be plenty of excitment tomorrow. iSonic86, KAR5.7, FF22(18)

15 days ago Rocko
Patchy wind, but it looked fresh enough for the 7.0, with the Hydro 91 + 725 wing.
I was about to launch and the webbing at the top of the 7.0 blew a gasket, so I had to rerig a 9.0 or go home.
I chose the 9.0. It was a handful out near the causeway, where it was full power with gusts over 20K, but inshore it was barely enough, cos the breeze was really offshore today.
Had a good sesh, and then it started to really drop, so after a long slog out to sea I headed for home.
Not epic Rocko, but still a nice sesh to wash off the working week.
